š Hoya vitellina
Common name: Chocolate-Flower Wax Plant Origin: Java, Malaysia, Thailand Vibe: Glossy foliage + radiant blooms = tropical elegance
⨠Description
Hoya vitellina features oval, leathery leaves with prominent veining and occasional splash patterns. With bright light, the foliage may blush red or purpleāadding a dramatic twist. Its flowers are creamy yellow with deep golden centers, often described as āvitellineā (egg-yolk-like), and bloom in tight umbels from leaf axils. Each flower lasts about a day, but the blooming cycle can stretch for weeks.
This species is a relatively fast grower and climbs naturally, making it ideal for hanging baskets or trellised displays. The clone EPC 881 is especially popular for its vibrant leaf coloration and vigorous growth.
