🌟 Cryptanthus ‘Pink Starlight’
Earth Star with a cosmic twist. This Brazilian native forms a flat, star-like rosette of lance-shaped leaves striped in vivid pink and deep green. The texture is slightly leathery, the form compact (10–15 cm across), and the vibe pure tropical glam. It thrives in warm, humid environments and makes a striking accent in terrariums, desktops, or paired with glossy ceramics that echo its shimmer.
Unlike epiphytic bromeliads, Pink Starlight grows in soil—no central water cup, no fuss. Just radiant foliage and easy charm.
🧪 Care Guide: Keep the Star Shining
💡 Light: Bright, indirect light keeps the pink vibrant. Too much sun = bleaching. Too little = dull green. East-facing windows are ideal.
💧 Water: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep evenly moist but never soggy. Water directly into the soil—not into the rosette.
🌱 Soil: Use a well-draining mix: peat, perlite, fine bark. Orchid or bromeliad blends work well. Drainage holes are a must.
💨 Humidity: 60–80% humidity mimics its rainforest roots. Mist regularly or use a pebble tray. Dry air dulls the color.
🌡️ Temperature: 18–29°C is ideal. Below 10°C? Risk of damage. Keep it cozy and sheltered.
🍽️ Feeding: Feed monthly in spring/summer with diluted liquid fertilizer (¼ strength). Skip winter feedings.
🌿 Growth Habit: Slow-growing, clumping. Produces offsets (pups) that can be separated once mature.
🐾 Pet-Friendly: Non-toxic to pets—safe for curious paws and snouts.
